Patalavaca is situated on the south coast of Gran Canaria, between Puerto Rico and Arguineguin. It is a more quiet resort than Puerto Rico and has a beach and a yachting harbour as well as shops and restaurants. A short distance away is the old fishing village of Arquinequin, with its many fish restaurants and a harbour, where visitors can take the ferry to Puerto Rico and Puerto Mogan. The market every Tuesday in Arquinequin, is the largest on Gran Canaria.
